Documentation for ST Xformer Junior 2.2
---------------------------------------
by Darek Mihocka Jan. 5, 1989
ST Xformer II, the 8-bit emulator for the ST, works best on a machine
with at least 1 megabyte of memory. It does not work on a 520ST, and so
this version, ST Xformer Junior, was created. This particular version
supports the Xformer serial cable, which means that 8-bit disk drives
can be connected directly to the ST, and floppy disks booted directly.
ST Xformer Junior runs only on a color ST. The Xformer cable can be
purchased from me, or you can build one yourself. The pinout diagram of
the cable was uploaded to Compuserve and Genie a couple of weeks ago.
This version of the emulator is a few months old. As has been my policy
in the past, when there is a new version of the emulator, older versions
are released to the public. The upcoming 130XE emulator runs on any 520ST,
and so makes the Junior version obsolete. If you are not yet a registered
user of ST Xformer II, register now, or else you will not be eligable
for the 130XE emulator upgrade.
The mailing address for registering yourself or buying cables is:
Darek Mihocka
Box 2624, Station B
Kitchener, Ontario N2H 6N2
CANADA
If possible, include a mailing label, but don't send a SASE.
Registration is $20, and you receive a disk with the latest versions of
the emulator and sample 8-bit software, and you will then be able to
upgrade to the 130XE emulator when it is released next month.
Assembled and tested Xformer serial cables are $23 (US) each, and also
support 8-bit printers and the 850 interface.
